Hospital Equipment Loan Program (HELP) – Free Medical Equipment for Home Use
The Hospital Equipment Loan Program (HELP), managed by the Freemasons, offers a free loan of durable medical and health equipment for home use. This program operates like a lending library, allowing individuals to borrow essential medical equipment for as long as they need, free of charge. Borrowers are simply asked to return items clean and in good condition, ready for others to use.
Key details about the program include:
- Free Equipment Loans: The program is open to anyone in need of home medical equipment. There are no fees, and donations are optional.
- Home Use Only: Equipment is only available for home use, not for care facilities.
- Volunteers-Run: The entire program is run by Freemason volunteers and their families, emphasizing community support.
- Pickup Location and Times: Items can be picked up on Saturdays from 9 AM to 12 Noon at the Woburn location, with additional locations in Centerville (Cape Cod) and Westfield (Springfield).
- Equipment Donations: The program accepts donations of gently used medical equipment, but cannot take broken items, unclean supplies, or specific medical equipment like electric wheelchairs or medicines.
- Monetary Donations: Donations to support the program can be made via mail or PayPal.
This initiative reflects the Freemasons' commitment to community service, helping people access essential medical equipment at no cost.
